So another event and this time they add a top prize for the person with the most stolen identities. Just another reason for people to spend even more money on gold, right? Not only that, now they make it even more difficult to enter the top 250. Those that don't win the top prize will finish top 250 and those aiming for a top 250 prize don't even stand a chance. When is it not about the money Gree?

Just had to rant (._.)

Opt out of paying, take the free stuff, nothing to complain about. :)

You get some nice items for free, and in your free-play bracket they will serve u well.

I see 3 distinct brackets, and maybe if you are in the second, you might need to consider dropping your aspirations down to the first...

1. FREE player - u should love scratchers and events, u get Gold-level items for free, nice.

2. Low-ball spender - this is the area of the game that is being eroded. Used to be that a total spend of $1000 made you a strong player, but not any more, some people are dropping that much weekly. This is also the area where the anger, and the cheating is coming from - anger because their previous spend has been eroded to the stage that it is worthless, and cheating because they want to be a 3...

3. High Rollers - $1000 a week, yeah no problem. You can't compete. Don't even try.

As said it should only be 1 and 3, because 2 is just a waste of time and money.

+1 this is 100% correct. It's no longer HL or LL it's also FP or GP. If you go Gold be ready to go big or
Be disappointed cause there are people that are willing to outspend you.

You're implying that 3 is NOT a waste of money?

Not really, more that 3 have the necessary means and inclination to buy their way to the top. If you can't hang with that, you need to step aside, or you'll get trampled.

And people trying to hang with that when it is beyond their financial means is where the stupidity begins.

Anyone that needs to think about how much they can 'afford' to spend on CC, needs to reign their ego in, and take up their position in group 1 - that way their kids will get what they want for Christmas.

More misinterpretation - who mentioned enjoyment, I'm talking about being a strong player, and that the cost of beng a strong player has gone up dramatically of late.

how is it a waste of time and money if your enjoying it?

Burn

In terms of it allowing you to be a 'strong player'.

6 months ago dropping $1000 would have made you one of the games stronger players, certainly way way above the average player.

Today, $1000 might not even win you a leaderboard event.

People need to be clear what they are buying, because the rules have changed. They've changed a lot.

If you spend $50 a month purely to increase your fun, fine, go ahead. If you think it is going to make you a big hitter in the future - keep your money for something else, because it won't.

ok...but not everybody is aiming to be one of the strong players. people like me just play for something to do in their spare time or when theyre bored. i have no idea what started your rant on being a strong player..the op was tlaking about how gree is greedy

Burn

No doubt, I'm in that camp too. I looked at buying CC Gold as being no worse than paying for Cable TV, christ knows I spend more time on here than I do watching TV.

But i did get slowly sucked into spending more... 50 Gold became a Stash, Stash became a Truck, then a Vault. Eventually i was waiting for a sale to buy 2 vaults.

For fun yes, for strength also.

I took a 2 month break, much has changed, I now won't pay the price needed for strength, and without strength the fun isn't enough to justify the spend.

P.S. Not ranting, just sharing, in case it strikes a chord, or snaps someone else out of their Gold fever :)

P.P.S. You're right, I have taken the thread too far off topic, sorry.

It's unfortunate because Gree have destroyed the balance of the game to the point where there isn't any. At least with the 10th item gotcha style events everyone had some sort of chance of winning the grand prize. Now the events are purely aimed at the people who are willing to spend the most.

I got so excited this morning when the new splash page popped up and I saw the word epic because I thought we were getting an epic boss event but after reading what it said my first thought was 'this game is only going to get worst from now on'.

Gree has no intention of making its customer base happy and I'm pretty sure 90% of the players out there arent enjoying the game as much as they use to. I just hope the game doesn't die because I wonder how much longer Gree can sustain making ridiculous amounts of money off such a small group of players.

Yea you can look at it from burns point of view and the fact that you can get a few gold level items for free but for me it's the excitement and enjoyment that has been taken away. To be honest the scratchers are crap, I never get more than 3 of the same and the items I'm winning aren't increasing my stats. Events are now boring and the enjoyment factor has totally disappeared. At least with the 10th item gotcha style events you had a slim chance of getting the grand prize which meant the hope and excitement was still there every time you opened a box. Now I'm merely taking part in events to collect the four prizes that most other players are collecting so that I don't miss out on the minimal stat increase.

Overall it's a shame because the game has the potential to be one of the greatest ever and it would be highly addictive if it was run by a company that understood customer satisfaction and sustained profit.

We'll see how long the wealthy continue spending $1000 on each event. Think, over the course of a year there will be a minimum of 40 events, could you spend $40,000 a year on a mobile game?? I've got the money too but I can't justify spending that amount of money on pixels, recycled pixels for that matter!

FFS Gree you've got players spending ridiculous amounts of money to win the grand prize and you can't even give them a new or amended pixels. You're simply taking an old weapon and changing its name. The funny thing is my Avon account has pretty much all of the same pixels as the grand prizes from these new style events.

Anyway I hope for everyone's sake that the lifespan of this game is sustained for as long as possible because otherwise everyone who has spent money on this game is going to lose out.

Nothing else in this game has given more sastifaction then getting a 10th item prize even if I did have to spend a vault to get it. It's just sad that it's gone. Burn is 100% correct I used to be the in the 2 category but now I have no choice but to play free. I would get no extra enjoyment spending 50$ a month it might as well go somewhere else and it has been.

If Gree was smart they would make a Top 500/Top 50 event with the #1 person getting a top prize. This way more of us would be happy to have a shot at one of the big prizes. I think more people would be willing to spend 20-50 dollars to get in the top 500 and dont worry... there will be people spending $1,000+ to get the top prize. More happy customers and more money for Gree.

1. FREE player - u should love scratchers and events, u get Gold-level items for free, nice.

Burn, I disagree. Of course people like to get things for free from the scratcher. However, the game is about having better stats than your rivals. If everybody gets these items for free it effectively devaluates your other items. While it looks good at the first glance, it is bad for all players of above-average strength. It introduced a kind of inflation for equipment. And as they are given out randomly it weakens any strategic approach to the game.

It is basically the same for the event items, except for the high-end items available to the heavy gold spenders.

Yeah, I get that - hadn't thought of it as inflation, so good point.

Devalues stuff you work for like Respect items, so ultimately replaces skill/work with luck.

Completely agree here. I have disengaged from events and my spending has gone to 0. I really enjoyed events in the past... would even alarm through the night to get a chance at a great prize. If I got close, I used gold... sometimes up to 1500 to secure 10. I even participated when 500 prizes were available. Now it is in no way realistic to think that my playing efforts can impact my outcome in an event, and I am not going to join the auction.

I can see the frustration from many others as well and not just me, and I agree with a bunch of you. I'm not a gold spender at all - never have and never will. The problem I have is that Gree is just looking for money. Billionaire said it perfectly - Gree doesn't seem to care about customer satisfaction. This event is making them a bunch of money because morons are willing to spend so much real life money on franking pixels. So what do they do? They release the same event 1 week later and change the items. Then the cycle repeats. Now it's been quite some time where there hasn't been an event that actually benefits everyone. Sure, I get free items, but everyone else gets them too. So who, without spending a dollar, is actually the winner here? There are only losers - those that didn't participate in the event because they didn't get the free items. That's the only reason I'm doing this event. Like Billionaire, I don't want to miss out on the stat increase. The "winners" here are those that spent gold to get into the top 250. And I quote 'winners' because really they aren't winners for the amount they probably spent getting into the top. Gree, on the other hand, are the only true winners. They have just forced users into emptying a portion of their bank account and made a bunch of money but it took them literally no effort. The rest of us are either angry customers who aren't getting a fair chance in the game, or brainwashed, delusional people who have just spent thousand's of dollars on pixels in a matter of weeks. No improvement in the game whatsoever. Gree doesn't care, and it doesn't seem they will anytime soon. They'll just continue to take the money out of the wallets of those willing to spend it and the rest of us not spending will slowly leave this game until it dies. Sorry, just the truth.

Gree has definately ruined the game, I was a casual gold buyer 100-200 per month, the complete lack of balance halted that a while back, things just get even worse.

The fact that the game itself has not really evolved in a playable sence (go 10-0, rob some useless $$) join a ganag that can still only go 10-0 on a guy on e every 2hourz etc) only evolution is milkimg the cow to the extreme and even further degrading customer appreciation.

For those that care, there are mmorpg apps out there now that are so involved, where 'gangs' of mafia can actually go to war with other gangs or alliances where gold is a price where you only need to spend 20-30 per month to get the 'gold' edge and the top players get there thro skill, time, intelliiance, and tactics rather than a competition on who has the largest wallet. Im back on break from cc now, other newer 'free' apps have my attention...

In regards to the events having a tilted table separating the "#1's and the #3's", thrown into the mix are the folks that have found a way to get in the top 250 or 50 without even spending gold. I glanced at another forum last night and saw a current crime city "gang" member bragging about how they have participated in cheating in the last event and Other ways they have bent honest game play. It was quite a surprise to me to see how many folks discussed what they were doing. I'm keeping this as general as I can as I don't know what is not supposed to be discussed so I will leave it at that.

I'm sure there are plenty of folks dropping bills on these events, so don't think that I am accusing anyone or group because im not. Just sharing that this was an eye opener to see the details and number of folks that jumped on that bandwagon. Gree needs to get a grip on their programming and security. Change some things up and make this game challenging and new agan.

I was thinking of this in the shower this morning. The problem (from Gree's perspective; don't forget, their #1 goal is to make money and serve the shareholders) is that after people would get that 10th item, the gold spending would drop off. People would more than likely revert to cash spending at that point because it didn't matter anymore if the box didn't open. At least, that was the case with me. I'm assuming I wasn't alone.

From a revenue point of view, it was a great move.

You don't know if it was a great move because you don't know how much they made or what they're pulling in now it could be a similar amount. You're right, I don't know the numbers on what they were pulling in before vs what they're getting now, but if the new event style is still going on, I think its safe to assume that they're making more money now.

I didn't know it was a bad thing to let the company know if you aren't pleased with what they are doing. I want improvements to the game, but Gree is too worried about profit. Anything "fun" about CC is slowly disappearing and it's kind of sad for a game that was actually quite entertaining at one point. It's just about money now.
